Book Series;Book 2.

June has been kind to me. I thank God. Yesterday was a lazy Sunday and I have been feeling burnt out. I decided to start a book but ended up reading it all. My book was Nearly All The Men in Lagos Are Mad by Damilare Kuku.

I blind read the book. I did not want any reviews because if I see more than five consecutive negative reviews I do not touch those books. Luckily for me, it was such a good book. The first page had me hooked and I knew this was a book that had me by the throat. I will think about this book for a long time.

After finishing the book, I went online to look for the author. I wanted to read and find out where and why she wrote this book. I found my answers. It turns out Damilare an author and an actor wrote the book after getting the book title first. She then broke down the titles of the different -written stories that make up the book and to be honest, it all came together so well.

The different stories were inspired by stories from her experiences, her friends, and really the shared experiences we have especially in relationships.Damilare also says she wrote the book for the girlies and to know you are not alone.

The stories are different but trust me these are things you have either experienced seen or even heard. I of course had a favorite as always. My absolute best was the anointed wife. The story is about a pastor's wife who has an unfaithful pastor husband who one day sleeps with a sex worker. The wife has to cover up for her husband and it really stood out for me. I was able to see how PR is used in such instances. The wife was attacking the sex worker and there was deepseated misogyny which made her keep blaming this girl while insisting the husband was innocent until she finally sat with the truth. The wife kept reflecting back on where both of them had come from and she couldn't let go of this man. She was in denial but later joined many dots of times when he'd keep cheating and she would cover it up. I knew it was really bad because the husband even called her ' mommy'.The title only told me what I needed to know!

All in all, this is a book I will think about for a long time. I highly recommend it.
